How AI powered AWS WAF solution’s implementation works

Ordinary Experts became our implementation partner in April 2023.

Ordinary Experts is a technical consulting firm focused on Amazon Web Services (AWS), providing expertise in Infrastructure As Code and DevOps. Ordinary Experts has a deep understanding of the AWS platform and its security features.

Cyber Security Cloud, Inc. is a software product development firm based in Japan that has developed WafCharm, a cloud-based web application firewall (WAF) solution delivered via the AWS Marketplace. WafCharm automatically configures, curates and updates AWS WAF rules in order to respond to new vulnerabilities.

Partnership Overview

Both firms are proposing a partnership between companies to expand the reach of WafCharm in the US market. Under this partnership, Ordinary Experts will serve as a US Implementation Partner for WafCharm, providing a packaged implementation and support service to new WafCharm customers. In return, Cyber Security Cloud, Inc. will promote the partnership on their website and through other channels, driving new business to Ordinary Experts.

Key Components of the Partnership

US Implementation Partner

Ordinary Experts is responsible for development of a WafCharm ‘Implementation Service’ product, which would be sold through the AWS Marketplace as a Professional Service product. This product would facilitate the implementation of WafCharm in the US market by providing a standardized onboarding experience to new WafCharm customers who prefer receiving personalized support.

Ordinary Experts will also create an internal team to support this product. Ordinary Experts will work with Cyber Security Cloud, Inc. to train the Ordinary Experts’ support team on WafCharm.

Implementation Service Product Scope and Price

The WafCharm Implementation Service product would have a set scope and price.
Scope

The scope would include three meetings between the new WafCharm customer and the Ordinary Experts support team.

Initial Meeting - Planning

During the initial meeting, Ordinary Experts would review WafCharm with the customer and make sure all the requirements for implementation are identified and discussed. Ordinary Experts will direct the customer as to how to satisfy any outstanding requirements and schedule a second meeting to implement WafCharm.

Second Meeting - Implementation

During the second meeting, Ordinary Experts will advise and guide the client, via screen-share, as to how to implement WafCharm in their account. Ordinary Experts will not actually log into the client’s AWS account or make any changes, but rather advise and instruct the client’s engineering resource as to the appropriate setup.

Final Meeting - Review

In the third and final meeting within the scope of the Implementation Support product, Ordinary Experts will review initial results with the client and provide feedback on potential improvements or possible next steps in their adoption of WafCharm.
